Summitree – Climate protection with sport and exercise

At the Greentech.LIVE conference in Hamburg, Thomas Seidel from Summitree will be talking about the exciting topic of how we can promote climate protection through sport and exercise.

Summitree was created to motivate people to contribute to climate protection through sport and exercise. Thomas’ vision is to create a link between nature and activity through innovative projects and a unique concept.

The Summitree concept

Summitree enables companies and individuals to support specific climate protection projects through exercise challenges. Participants can motivate themselves to take part in various activities such as running, cycling or even gardening and in this way plant trees or restore moors.

Participation in the challenges is free of charge, with the funds for the climate protection project coming from the companies supporting the challenge.

Why Summitree works so well

The special thing about Summitree is the strong community bond that is created through gamification and the focus on workplace health promotion.

With a gamification approach, teams can track their progress in real time and compete with other participants. Companies benefit not only from the positive impact on their employees’ health, but also from stronger employer branding and the opportunity to strengthen their CSR strategies.

The projects are local and offer participants the opportunity to experience the direct impact of their activities on climate protection – and to plant a large number of trees and bind CO2.
