Sustainable digitalization: opportunities for climate protection
In his presentation at the Greentech.LIVE conference in Berlin, Noah Bilski, advisor for sustainable digitalization at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, sheds light on how digital technologies can promote climate protection.
He will highlight two key projects that the ministry is currently supporting.
Promoting Sustainable Digitalization: Creating a Community of Expert
On the one hand, Bilski presents projects for sustainable digitalization: One of the projects aims to create a community of experts to address the sustainable use of digital technologies. This community is to work together on solutions that make digital technologies more ecologically efficient and sustainable. Within this framework, workshops and networking opportunities will be offered to promote digitalization and have a positive impact on climate protection.
Supporting Sustainable Consumption with Digital Technologies
Secondly, Bilski presents projects to promote sustainable consumption: the second project deals with the question of how digital technologies can support sustainable consumption.
The aim here is to develop concepts that, for example, extend the lifespan of products or improve their repair options. The aim is to find digital solutions that help to conserve resources and minimize the ecological footprint in everyday life.
Conclusion: “Digital technologies can play a central role in climate protection. They offer numerous opportunities to promote sustainability and reduce CO2 emissions,” says Noah Bilski, Sustainable Digitalization Officer at the Federal Ministry for the Environment.
And with the right application and collaboration, digital solutions could make an even more decisive contribution to achieving climate targets.
