The Circular Economy: Key to Sustainable Development
The circular economy is one of the key issues when it comes to sustainable development: Christine Menglée, an expert in materials management, the circular economy and trade, will speak at the Greentech.LIVE conference about why this concept is essential for environmental protection and how it can be integrated into the everyday lives of companies and consumers.
Every year, each German produces an average of 438 kilograms of household waste – from organic waste to packaging and residual waste. A large proportion of this ends up in energy recovery, i.e. in waste incineration plants, which releases 24 million tons of CO₂ every year.
The Potential of Recycling: Waste That Could Be Avoided
The problem is that much of this waste could be recycled or even avoided if the right concepts were in place.
According to Christine Menglée, it is not just up to politicians or industry, but to each individual to drive forward the circular economy.
Sustainability must be made tangible – through conscious consumer choices, waste separation and a new way of thinking in companies. After all, we can only conserve resources and maintain a liveable environment in the long term if everyone does their bit.
Small Changes, Big Impact: How Individuals Can Contribute to Reducing Waste
If you want to take a closer look at the topic, you can integrate simple steps into your everyday life and actively contribute to reducing waste. Because small changes have a big impact, says Christine Menglée.
