The Fascination of the Ocean: Between Art and Environmental Protection

In an exciting session at the Greentech.LIVE conference from Hamburg, photographer Julia Ochs, founder of the OCEAN GALLERY in Stuttgart, will be speaking. Julia has dedicated her work to the ocean and will give some insights into her fascinating photography and her tireless work for marine conservation. The project now also has a traveling exhibition that is touring Germany and can be seen in cities such as St. Peter Ording. Here, the beauty of the ocean is combined with an emotional approach to inspire people to take action.

Art and Environmental Awareness: Inspiring Action Through Photography

At the end, Julia invites the audience to think about what each individual can do to protect the ocean. “There is no one solution, but everyone can make a contribution in their own environment – be it through conscious consumption, education, or support for marine conservation organizations.”

Julia emphasizes that her work is not only dedicated to the beauty of the ocean. It is also about showing the dark side: the threats to the ecosystem caused by human activities.

The Vital Role of the Ocean: Phytoplankton and Oxygen Production

The phytoplankton in the sea produces 50% of the oxygen we breathe. This means that the sea is responsible for every second breath we take.

With her photographs, Julia not only wants to show the beauty of the sea, but also raise awareness of marine conservation. Art should play an important role in this.

The Ocean Gallery: Bringing Marine Conservation to Urban Areas

The Ocean Gallery was founded to get people excited about marine conservation. Through art and events such as workshops, lectures, and performances, the gallery aims to appeal to a broad audience and make the topic visible in urban areas.
