Water not in bottles – but from the tap

At the Greentech.LIVE conference in Hamburg, Julian Fischer, founder of a tip tap, spoke with a clear and provocative message: “Why buy bottled water when tap water is available?”

With his new campaign “uninhibited drinking water”, Fischer is addressing an issue that affects us all and yet many people do not question: the purchase of bottled water.

The hype surrounding mineral water in plastic bottles has taken on enormous proportions in recent years, but Fischer is calling on us to rethink our habits and go back to basics.

To reduce unnecessary plastic waste and focus on the essentials – good, clean tap water.

Why bottled water is problematic

The problems with bottled water are manifold. Billions of plastic bottles are produced every year, most of which are only used once and then thrown away.

It takes hundreds of years to break down plastic, which leads to massive pollution of our oceans and landscapes. In addition, the production of plastic bottles and the transportation of water requires huge amounts of energy and causes considerable CO2 emissions.

Buying bottled water is not only a burden on the planet, but also on your wallet. Because what many people don’t know: Tap water is much cheaper and does not require expensive packaging or costly transportation.

Tap water in a new light – humor as the key

With the “uninhibited drinking water” campaign, the aim is to bring people back to what they used to take for granted: tap water.

Humor is used as the key to making the topic appealing and entertaining. Advertisements and social media posts from the campaign parody the exaggerated depictions of bottled water in advertising and make the absurd marketing strategies visible.

Tap water as a real alternative

While bottled water is still considered the epitome of purity and freshness, tap water in Germany can easily keep up. This is because the quality of tap water is excellent – subject to strict controls, clean and in many cases even richer in minerals than most bottled water. It also contains no unnecessary packaging and is therefore easy on the wallet and the environment.
