Around the world with solar energy – in search of solutions for a sustainable future

Louis Palmer has been traveling the world for years with his Solar Butterfly, a solar-powered caravan, to demonstrate solutions to climate change.

His mission: to find 1,000 sustainable innovations and visit 1,000 schools to raise awareness of renewable energy.

While the number of electric cars is increasing, CO2 emissions continue to grow.

Solar Butterfly produces its own energy to drive 200 KM emission-free every day

Palmer shows that the technologies to reduce emissions have long existed. His Solar Butterfly produces enough energy to drive 200 kilometers a day with zero emissions. Made from recycled plastic from the ocean, it is itself a symbol of the circular economy.

His journey took him through Europe, North America and Asia – always on the lookout for innovative solutions.

Palmer found extremely cheap solar energy in India, emission-free steel from Sweden, climate-neutral cement with vegetable coal and visions for hydrogen airplanes.

His message: We have the solutions – we just have to implement them!
